Even though it is less than two weeks until the Inner Circle’s Ritual of Judgement, I’m not worried. This week saw a whole slew of components finished up. The best progress by far is my entire Field Artillery pit. I’ve decided due to the uniqueness of each piece, I’ll be entering them as their own unit.… Read More Road to Dallas: Crunch Time
Taking a break last week for Easter Sunday, I return with sizable progress. Infantry continues to be done piece by piece and I project to be finished with time to spare at what is currently the three week marker. One of my biggest achievements has been a custom Great Unlcean One. It’s a behemoth of a… Read More Road to Dallas: In the bog, but not bogged down
One of the groups we follow on Instagram, Small Terrain Scenery, posted a Kickstarter for a collection of resin terrain they are producing. The campaign includes sandbag walls and a bunker. This sort of ‘classic’ fortification terrain is a great staple and would be right at home on many 28mm battlefields. I’ll be using it for Bolt… Read More Take Cover! Sandbag and Rubble Terrain
With Adepticon 2017 done and dusted it’s on to the next set of projects. Now, unlike what I do for Bolt Action, whereI am constantly moving from one army to the next in a never-ending production line, for the next three months, my goal is complete one army for three games. Once the armies are done,… Read More Arena Rex, Blood & Plunder then SAGA
Moving away from rank and file Renegades, this week I focused on my Word Bearers champions, also known as the “Learned Sons”. A vast majority of how I chose to paint these models was inspired by Warhammer TV’s How to paint Word Bearers (Horus Heresy), How to paint Putrid Blightkings and How to paint a Maggoth… Read More Road to Dallas: Learned Sons
The top perk in the Adepticon swag bags this year was a copy of the core box for Fantasy Flight Games’ yet-to-be-release Runewars: The Miniatures Game. Needless to say, I was thrilled. It’s like Chicago Dice got an early review copy! Note that this not a full review, only Ben and my initial thoughts on… Read More Runewars: The Miniatures Game – Warhammer Fantasy meets X-Wing
After dealing with the flu last week (a price I should’ve expected to pay when seeking the patronage of Father Nurgle…), I’m back to the grind. The pressure is mounting, as my timeline gives me 40 days left (the goal is to have my entry ready to be judged on May 10). It’s time to… Read More Road to Dallas: Seeing red after feeling green
As mass infantry batch painting marches onward, I began looking over my score sheet for Inner Circle. While I have a high model count, It is only 8 of the 18 unit maximum. All eight were not purchased in a Games Workshop store, meaning they were worth two fewer points on my sheet than if… Read More Road to Dallas: Converting models with the good word of Nurgle
With exactly one week until Adepticon 2017 begins I have been in a hobby frenzy. Being on such an extreme time crunch I won’t be going into as much detail as normal for my update. Right now I am working on: Display board for the Warhammer 40,000 team tournament – The display will have two levels;… Read More Adepticon, the clock is ticking
