Operation Sting event photos
Ben and I took a ton of pictures at the event. We tried to capture both games in progress and armies on display. Without a doubt, Operation Sting had the highest level of hobby I have seen at a Bolt Action event.

Operation Sting coverage
Last weekend Ben and I attended Operation Sting. Hosted in Northbook, IL on Nov. 5-6 , this 30 player, two-day tournament is quickly becoming the premier Bolt Action event in the Midwest. Considering Ben and I played a total of ten games over the weekend we will not be doing a full write-up for each game. Instead,… Read More Operation Sting coverage
WIP Wednesday – The last Chindit
This week saw me finishing the last of the of the Bolt Action Chindits, the Medic. I now have a main 1250 pt. list with several different build options depending on the game. With Operation Sting just a few days away, I finished this army just in time. With so many other projects on the… Read More WIP Wednesday – The last Chindit
Operation Sting – Chindit platoon fluff
One of the requirements for Operation Sting is a short write up outlining your theme and unit choices. I’ve added my draft below to see what you think. I’d like to get it printed on some parchment paper or something similar and then have it up by the display board during the tournament. I’m sure… Read More Operation Sting – Chindit platoon fluff
How to paint Bolt Action Chindits
World War II miniatures have the bad habit of ending up us brown models on a brown table. My goal with this project was to create an army that popped and these Chindit miniatures provided me with just that chance. My aim was to use the hats, the backpacks and the bases as three points of… Read More How to paint Bolt Action Chindits
Dragon Fall – Arena Rex and Bolt Action coverage
This past weekend Ben and I attended Dragon Fall in St. Charles, IL. Dragon Fall consisted of multiple events for many games systems. There was a two-day Warhammer 40,000 tournament, X-Wing, 9th Age, Kings of War and a few others over the weekend. For Ben and myself, the main attraction was the Bolt Action Attrition event… Read More Dragon Fall – Arena Rex and Bolt Action coverage
Michigan GT – Bolt Action coverage
This weekend I attended the Michigan GT in Lansing, MI. The event has been going on for a number of years but this was only the second year for Bolt Action. There was a great turnout of 24 players (12 Allies and 12 Axis) and from what I saw, all games were Axis versus Allies… Read More Michigan GT – Bolt Action coverage
Customeeple Infinity terrain
I have finished up a batch of Customeeple buildings for an Infinity terrain commission. These buildings are all MDF and acrylic kits that capture the sci-fi style of Infinity well. There are a lot of flat surfaces and hard edges that lend themselves to extreme edge highlighting. I would not normally go this hard on the edge… Read More Customeeple Infinity terrain
White Dwarf September 2016
The Games Workshop magazine, White Dwarf, has seen a lot of changes in its almost 40 year publication history. In February of 2015 the monthly magazine was produced in a weekly format to align with the Games Workshop weekly product release schedule . This change was met with both praise and criticism from readers. Now,… Read More White Dwarf September 2016
Bolt Action Chindits
Project updates for my Bolt Action Chindits army. The force is built around a core of infantry with a few support weapons and light vehicles. Aug. 30 I’ve finished up the command squad and a few teams since the last update. The basing is still not finalized. I like the dark brown as a first… Read More Bolt Action Chindits
