DieCon 2018 is done and dusted. Final results are:

I am thrilled with our results! Both Ben and Dexter were right in the hunt for top spot in Tank War on Sunday. Huge congrats to Jacob for winning Best Sports on Saturday and then bringing the thunder on Sunday to take Best General and the top spot!

Massive thank you to Pat for running a fun event! Being TO is often a thankless task and he put enjoyment for the players above all else. Thank you sir!

Tank War is over. I pulled another Best Painted, Dexter snagged second place, and we are on our way back to Chicago two hours ahead of schedule!

Wins across the board for the Chicago Dice boys in Game Two of Tank War.

My Massive Darkness Cliffbreaker Cyclops won first place in the Single Model category in the DieCon 2018 painting contest!

Saturday, 8:12 p.m. – Pizza time!

Had to hit up Casey’s General Store for a taco and meat galore pizza!

Saturday, 7:20 p.m. – Final results

Dexter went 3-0 and took Best General! I came in third and won Best Painted! Ben finished up in fourth.

Overall, great event. Tank War starts tomorrow morning!

Saturday, 6:26 p.m. – Game Three coming down to the wire

Dexter and I both won our Game Three. Ben is fighting hard as we approach the end of the tournament.

Saturday, 3:54 p.m. – Game Two wrapping up

Dexter is still locked in combat for Game Two. Ben grabbed a big win and I remain Even Steven rocking two draws.

Saturday, 12:50 p.m. – Game One results

I managed to snatch a draw out of the jaws of defeat. That first turn was rough…

Ben also ended up with a draw and Dexter grabbed a win.

Round two starts in about a half-hour. Wish us luck!

We have arrived! A bit late but fortunately the tournament doesn’t start til 10am tomorrow. Time for some shut eye and then some good old fashioned Bolt Action!

Friday, 7:05 p.m. – Pre-Trip Dinner

Having some dinner and drinks before we head south. Dexter is… ready to go!

Friday, 9:20 a.m. – The event lineup

Unlike last weekend at Bugeater, this is a strictly Bolt Action event. Dexter, Ben and I will be competing in two one-day tournaments. A 1250pt, three-game Bolt Action tournament on Saturday and a 1500pt, three-game Tank War tournament on Sunday. It’s the Tank War tournament that really tipped the scales to get us to make the trip. I have not played a game of Tank War since First Edition and I’ve been looking for excuse to take my winter Germans back to the table.
