Charge of the Winged Hussars – An Old Guard Games Bolt Action Tournament

Charge of the Wing Hussars is a Bolt Action tournament hosted by the OG Bolt Action Club, taking place at Old Guard Games (3132 N Downer St. in Milwaukee, WI) on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

The tournament is three games, 1,250pts, 4 Platoons max, and 16 Order Dice max. Lunch will be provided.

Registration – To register for the event, email Kris at kittellkris@hotmail.com. The event is capped at 24 players.

Event Cost – The registration fee is $20. Players can send payment to Kris via Venmo @Kris-Kittell-1. The registration fee will be used to provide prizes and lunch.

Army List Submission – Players are required to submit Army Lists in advance for review. Lists are due by Sunday, Aug. 30. Submit to Kris kittellkris@hotmail.com. Failure to submit Lists by the deadline will result in a tournament score deduction.


Army Building Requirements

  • The event will use the latest (currently Jan. 2026) Bolt Action FAQ & Errata.
  • Four Platoons max – 1,250pts – 16 Order Dice max.
    • For Germany, the United StatesGreat BritainSoviet Union, Imperial Japan, Italy, and the British Commonwealth (Australia, Canada, East Africa Command, India, New Zealand, and South Africa) forces must be built using their Third Edition Armies of book.
    • For the additional 11 “Minor Powers”, forces must be built using the Further Axis & Allied Nations PDFs.

The Ban List – These rules and units are not allowed at the Great Fire:

  • Units and Force Selectors from the Bolt Action Compendium are not allowed.
  • Any rules, books, updates, etc., published after Aug 16, 2026, will not be allowed.

Model Requirements

All models used must:

  • Be WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get)
    • In other words, proxy models are not allowed.
  • Minimum three colors
  • Based

Any models that do not meet these requirements will not be allowed on the table.

Schedule

Saturday, Sept. 12:
9:45 – 10:10am – Check-in
10:10am – Briefing
10:15 – 12:30pm – Game One
12:30 – 1:15pm – Lunch Break and Players’ Choice voting (lunch will be provided)
1:15 – 3:30pm – Game Two
3:30 – 4pm – Break
4:00 – 6:15pm – Game Three
6:15 – 6:45pm – Scoring and awards

Event Scoring

Battle score will be used to determine placings.

Battle scoring

  • 20pts for a Win, 5pts for a Draw, 0pts for a Loss or a Withdrawal.
    • Tie Breaker 1 – The percentage of Order Dice kept alive in Game 3.
    • Tie Breaker 2 – Number of games won.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Best Overall – Player with the highest total points.
  • Best Painted – Player with Best Painted army as selected by the TOs, that is not Player’s Choice.
  • Player’s Choice – Player with the most Player’s Choice votes, that is not Best Painted.
  • Best Allies – Player with the highest Allies score, that is not Best Overall.
  • Best Axis – Player with the highest Axis score, that is not Best Overall.

Army Lists

Army List Submission – Players are required to submit Army Lists in advance for review. Lists are due by Sunday, Aug. 30. Submit to Kris kittellkris@hotmail.com. Failure to submit Lists by the deadline will result in a tournament score deduction.

You should bring four copies of your list to the event. One copy for you and one for each opponent.

Note on EasyArmy2nd in Command, and Warlord Games App – No matter what app or website you use to build your list, double-check your points against the Rulebook, Armies of, and Minor Nation PDFs.
